The Athlete's Alphabet for Self-Improvement (i.e., Some Motivational Guidelines for Athletes to Stay Focused)
Parish, Thomas S.; Spier, Christopher
Education, v127 n4 p543-544 Sum 2007
The hardest part of being an athlete is staying motivated, i.e., being the best they can be routinely. This Alphabet is set up so that athletes can look at it when they are lacking the motivation that is needed, and possibly catch a spark to do better. In addition, athletes could glance at this alphabet in order to stay more focused and/or motivated as they strive to attain whatever it is they're seeking. Whatever the reason, athletes should certainly benefit directly by placing this alphabet in a conspicuous place . . . at least initially.
