"Zero to Three" is a single-focus bulletin of the National Center for Infants, Toddlers, and Families providing insight from multiple disciplines on the development of infants, toddlers, and their families. Responding to family needs in the wake of September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, this issue focuses on infants, toddlers, and terror. Articles contributed by "Zero to Three" board members, staff, and long-term supporters in the philanthropic community document responses to needs of the infants/family field. Articles include the following: (1) "A Long Walk Together: Children's World Learning CenterPentagon" (Jean M. Thomas); (2) "Observations of Acute Reactions of Young Children and Their Families to the World Trade Center Attacks" (Daniel S. Schechter, Susan W. Coates, and Elsa First); (3) "The Babies Push Us To Be Strong and Stay Loving" (Sandy Wolkoff); (4) "Supporting Parents, Helping Children: Some Questions and Principles" (Albert J. Solnit); (5) "Helping Young Children and Families Cope with Trauma in a New Era" (Joy D. Osofsky); (6) "Protecting Our Children" (Jeree Pawl); (7) Using Relationships To Promote Healing for Staff, Parents, and Children" (Nancy L. Seibel and Rebecca Parklakian); (8) "ZERO TO THREE's Cornerstones Project: A Safe Haven for Washington, D.C.'s Infant/Family Program Leaders" (Elizabeth A. Ford); (9) "Communications Challenges and a New Reality in the Aftermath of September 11th" (Lynette A. Ciervo and Thomas E. Salyers); and (10) "A Challenge for Foundations" (Betty Bardige and Marilyn Segal). The final section of this issue, titled"Voices from the Infant/Family Community," recounts observations from "Zero to Three" readers as events of September 11 affected the children and families they serve.
