LPN/ADN Bridge Course. Instructor's Guide.
Barrett, Jan; And Others
This curriculum guide has been constructed in order to bridge the skills gap between licensed practical nursing (LPN) programs and associate degree nursing (ADN) programs in Missouri. The curriculum was developed through a cooperative effort by persons from both sectors. The curriculum contains four major units, each consisting of several lessons, that cover the following topics: (1) the role of the associate degree nurse; (2) communication skills; (3) nursing diagnosis and nursing care plans; and (4) administration of medications. The guide is designed to be used as a formal presentation in a traditional classroom setting or as a self-study guide for individual instruction. Each lesson contains the following components: scope of unit statement, lesson objectives, information assignment, references, introduction, outline, summary and conclusion, interaction questions, classroom/laboratory activities, and evaluation items. A bibliography, a competency certificate, and a competency profile for student evaluation complete the document. (KC)
