Planning for Lutheran High Schools. Maintaining Fiscal Responsibility. Part One--Accounting. Part Two--Budgeting. Part Three--Five-Year Budget Projection. H 10.
Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, St. Louis, MO.; Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, Milwaukee.
This handbook has been prepared to assist new and existing Lutheran high schools. Three major portions of a high school financial system are described: accounting, budgeting, and five-year budget projections. The chart of accounts is described in detail in the accounting section and in the appendices. In order to develop some consistency in the accounting system of all Lutheran high schools, it is hoped that many existing schools will adopt the basic elements of the chart of accounts and report formats outlined in this handbook. It is hoped that all communities starting new Lutheran high schools will adopt this system. Meaningful comparative data is very beneficial to all the high schools as an aid in evaluating their performance. (Author/MLF)
