Outmigration among Rural High School Graduates: The Effect of Academic and Vocational Programs.

Data from the High School and Beyond Study (National Center for Education Statistics) are used to examine the post-school outmigration of students from rural areas in connection with student coursework and curriculum program enrollment (school level). Results show a connection between outmigration and high academic achievement and the schools' emphasis on academic curriculum. (SLD)
