An Investigation of the Selection Techniques of Veterinary Science and Medicine Students at Purdue University.
Gohn, Lyle Alan
Investigated were factors for predicting success of students of veterinary medicine and science at Purdue University. All males enrolled as beginning students in the fall classes of 1959 through 1965 were analyzed. Student records and questionnaires were employed to gather information on academic records and demographic and non-demographic variables. Four grade point averages were used as the criteria, and 39 variables were selected as potential predictors and were analyzed with the criteria. Nearly one-half of the variables were significantly correlated with one or more of the criteria. Preclinical Cumulative Grade Point and Cumulative Grade Point were significantly correlated with 13 variables. (BC)
