The Use of Twitter for Professional Growth and Development
Gerstein, Jackie
International Journal on E-Learning, v10 n3 p273-276 Jul 2011
Twitter, the micro blogging tool, has seen unprecedented growth in the past year and is expected to continue into the future. Twitter's power, engagement, and popularity lie in its endless networking opportunities. Its potential as a venue for professional growth and development needs to be explored, discussed, and ultimately used as such. A brief review of the literature is provided along with the results of a survey about educator's use of Twitter for professional development (N=135). (Contains 1 figure and 1 table.)
