A Guide for Determining Which Teaching Methodology to Utilize in Economic Education: Trying to Improve How Economic Information Is Communicated to Students

In this article, a practical framework for classifying various economic education teaching methodologies is established. This framework contributes to the literature regarding economic education by fostering a better understanding of how various teaching methodologies fit within the scope of economic education while also providing educators with some criteria for selecting an effective teaching methodology given the economic information that is being studied. The ultimate aim is to improve how economic information is communicated to students. The various teaching methodologies examined include: The CPS approach, service learning, lecturing, lecturing plus, interactive role play, inverted classroom, technology based, case studies and experiments, demonstrations and dramatizations. The classifications utilized to summarize the teaching methodologies utilized in economic education include: Bloom's educational objectives, student or teacher oriented activity, technology based, individual or group focused activity, and time constraints.
