Implications of Computer Technology. Harvard University Program on Technology and Society.
Taviss, Irene; Burbank, Judith
Lengthy abstracts of a small number of selected books and articles on the implications of computer technology are presented, preceded by a brief state-of-the-art survey which traces the impact of computers on the structure of economic and political organizations and socio-cultural patterns. A summary statement introduces each of the three abstract categories: economic, political, and cultural implications. The material selected for abstracting was judged to have some impace on the field, to present a significant analysis of issues or a useful compilation of data, or to be representative of different outlooks and viewpoints. Authors whose works are abstracted include: Patrick Suppes, Heinz Eulau, Paul Baran, James Schlesinger, and Anthony Oettinger. (JY)
