The "Policy Cycle": A Ball by Ball Account.
Hatcher, Richard; Troyna, Barry
Journal of Education Policy, v9 n2 p155-70 Apr-Jun 1994
Concerned with Stephen Ball's theoretical and empirical contribution to contemporary "education policy sociology," this article examines the efficacy of his theoretical eclecticism, highlighting incompatibilities in his interpretation and application of certain social and political theorists. Ball's representation of the policy cycle, as applied to implementing the British National Curriculum, distorts understandings of the policy process. (Contains 41 references.) (MLH)
