Incorporating Social Media in the Classroom
McMeans, April
Education, v135 n3 p289-290 Spr 2015
Incorporating social media into the classroom will provide a positive, upbeat learning environment that students are engaged in on a regular basis. In doing this, educators will be ensuring discussion, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity amongst their students. Social media is a knowledgeable topic for our students, and it is an excellent way to gain the interest of them prior to lesson implementation. Social media promotes high order and low order thinking skills in and outside of the classroom. Students will be more apt to collaborate with one another if doing so by using their favorite media site. As a result, assignments will be completed. Students and teachers both will be happy with the learning and teaching outcomes.
