This directory includes lists of people, agencies, and organizations that represent many of the key stakeholders in early childhood education career development and training work. It is intended to give activists from all walks of the early care and education field a place to start and a way to know to whom they should be talking both within and outside their states. Section 1, "State Contact Directory," is organized by state and includes complete contact information (name, address, and phone and fax numbers) for all individuals. Each person is coded with an abbreviation that designates his or her affiliations and roles. Section 2, "Affiliation/Role Index," provides the name, city, and state of people included in 21 categories of affiliations or roles. Categories include child care licensing agencies, state departments of education, Head Start agencies, and NAEYC offices. Section 3, "Alphabetical Index," is a complete roster of all names in the directory, with city, state, and, where possible, email information. Section 4, "Federal Agencies," includes contact information for a number of federal government agencies that work on child and family issues. Section 5, "National Organizations," is similar to Section 4 but also includes World Wide Web sites if available. Finally, Section 6, "Additional Resources," is a short list of other resource directories that may be helpful. It also includes guidance on how to obtain further information from some of the organizations listed in the directory and information on how to join The National Career Development Network for the Early Childhood and School-Age Field.
