This article talks about a conference organised by the National Children's Bureau (NCB) Northern Ireland, which brought together a number of experts in young people's emotional health. The event reflected the growing interest in young people's emotional well-being and delegates attended from across Northern Ireland and the Republic. The NCB is a charitable organisation that acts as an umbrella body for organisations working with children and young people in England and Northern Ireland, and provides information on policy, research and best practice for its members and partners. NCB membership is a multi-agency network of child education, health and social care, youth, early years and other children's services professionals. Keynote speakers included Dr. Ruth Sinclair, Director of NCB Northern Ireland; Ellie Lewis, Project Development Officer at NCB Northern Ireland; Tina McCrossan, Assistant Director of Children's Services and Sabrina McVeigh, Refer 2 Us member with Barnardo's Northern Ireland; Dr. Aisling McElearney, Education Advisor with the NSPCC; Deirdre McNamee, Senior Manager with the Health Promotion Agency; David Guilfoyle, Chief Executive of the Youth Council; Prof. Ed Cairns, Professor of Psychology at the University of Ulster; Dr. Katrina Lloyd, Research Director with ARK (The Northern Ireland Social and Political Archive); Peadar White, Team Leader of the Young Person's Project at Craigavon and Banbridge Community Health and Social Services Trust Initiative; Tara Caul, Head of the Legal Unit at the Children's Law Centre; and Anne Sheridan, Mental Health Promotion and Suicide Prevention Officer for the Health Service Executive in the North West of Ireland.
