Advice on Setting up a STEM Club
Khan, Faisal
Education in Science, n254 p22 Nov 2013
Setting up a STEM club can be the most daunting item that one faces on a department's development plan. Coupled with all the other demands that exist within teaching and learning, teachers can be easily forgiven for pushing this task further and further into the school year until it eventually becomes one of next year's "to-do" items. For a start, who will run it? How will it be funded? Who will be responsible for setting up the activities, packing items away in time for lessons and storing away the trays? And, assuming that it all works, how to even begin to measure its impact? This article offers advice on setting up a STEM club.
