Dialectical Ethnographic "Cleansing": ESL Students' Attitudes Towards Three Varieties of English.
Kahtany, Abdallah Hady al-
Language & Communication, v15 n2 p165-80 Apr 1995
Examined the attitudes of 14 Saudi Arabian college students at Michigan State University toward Standard American English (SAE), Black English (BE), and Indian English (IE). Results found that the students favored SAE over BE and IE, and considered IE to be both a poor variety of English and inappropriate as a medium of instruction. (24 references) (MDM)
