This booklet is an overview and summary of the publication "Reducing the Risk: Unemployed Migrant Youth and Labour Market Programs" which reviews programs and services for migrant and refugee youth in Australia. The unemployment rate for this group is higher than for their Australian-born peers, and their participation in governmental labor market programs is low relative to their unemployment rates. The review assessed the special employment and training needs of migrant youth, the availability and suitability of programs, and program coordination and evaluation, and discussed the Commonwealth Employment Service. This overview includes 34 recommendations for changes to improve the employment potential for immigrant youth. (CG)
