Mobile Livelihoods: The Sociocultural Practices of Circular Migrations between Puerto Rico and the United States.
Duany, Jorge
International Migration Review, v36 n2 p355-88 Sum 2002
Documented livelihood practices of migrants based on a recent field study of population flows between Puerto Rico and the United States, comparing characteristics of multiple movers, onetime movers, and nonmovers residing in Puerto Rico. Results suggest that circular migration does not entail major losses in human capital for Puerto Rico, but can be an occupational, educational, and linguistic asset. (SLD)
