Some Problems and Solutions in the Study of Change: Significant Patterns in Client Resistance.
Stoolmiller, Mike; And Others
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, v61 n6 p920-28 Dec 1993
Applied latent growth curve methodology to study of patterns of change in client resistance during parent training therapy of 68 mothers of children with confirmed conduct problems. Pretherapy maternal characteristics of inept discipline and antisocial behavior predicted chronically high levels of resistance. Lack of negative curvature of resistance growth curves predicted child court offenses during two-year posttermination follow-up. (Author/NB)
