Attitudes toward Computers, Science, and Technology: A Cross-Cultural Comparison Between Students in Rome and Los Angeles.
Sensales, Gilda; Greenfield, Patricia M.
Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology, v26 n3 p229-42 May 1995
Compared 320 Italian and U.S. college students' attitudes toward computers, science, and technology by field of study (the humanities, psychology, science, and engineering) and by gender. Attitudes were more positive than negative in both the U.S. and Italian samples, but sociocultural factors produced attitudinal differences. Nationality influenced the greatest differences, whereas gender was a less important influence than field of study. (GR)
