Picture This: Using Photography to Conceptualize Social Justice
DeJean, William
Multicultural Perspectives, v10 n2 p105-109 Apr 2008
In this article, the author describes how he used photography to conceptualize social justice to a group of undergraduate students. As part of their final assessment, the students were required to take photographs that represented their understanding of social justice. The author believed that photography provided a rich way to understand student perceptions of social justice. He also believed that providing time for students to share with each other the reasons behind the choice of the photo might further the learning for the entire classroom community.
