Evolving Polygons Revisited: Inequalities and Computer Graphing
Abramovich, Sergei; Brouwer, Peter
Journal of Computers in Mathematics and Science Teaching, v28 n4 p345-358 Oct 2009
This paper was developed with the goal of enhancing the mathematical preparation of secondary school teachers in the technological paradigm. It shows how two-variable inequalities can be utilized as models for the construction of geometric objects using the software Graphing Calculator 3.5 (produced by Pacific Tech) as a relation grapher. An important aspect of the proposed approach is the joint use of inequalities and data developed in an alternative technological context. (Contains 10 figures.)
