A Unit on Slope Functions--Using a Computer in Mathematics Class.

An introductory unit on slope, designed to give students a chance to discover some of the basic relationships between functions and slopes, is described. Programs written in BASIC for PET microcomputers were used. It is felt that students have the background to understand derivatives after experiences with this unit. (MP)
