Specific topics include the following: (1) primary care doctors, (2) specialists, (3) sources of information when choosing a physician, (4) important considerations in making the physician selection, (5) obtaining help in an emergency, (6) services provided by the health department, (7) the meaning of warnings on drugs, (8) the meaning of a generic and brand name drug, (9) comparing prices at different pharmacies, (10) the meaning of terms contained in health insurance policies, (11) different types of health insurance, (12) avoiding quacks and (13) keeping a health record.
