This is the sixth annual report of the U.S. Trade Commission on domestic production and sales of synthetic organic chemicals and the raw materials from which they are made. The report consists of 15 sections, each covering a specified group (based primarily on use) of organic chemicals as follows: tar and tar crudes; primary products from petroleum and natural gas; intermediates; dyes; pigments; medicinal chemicals; flavor and perfume materials; plastics and resins; rubber-processing chemicals; elastomers; plasticizers; surface-active agents; pesticides and related products; miscellaneous end-use chemicals and chemical products; and miscellaneous cyclic and acyclic chemicals. The first table in each section gives the production and sales data for each product, whereas the second table gives the manufacturers of each product using a three letter code and the third table lists the manufacturers, alphabetically. Appended are a directory of manufacturers, a list of U.S. imports of benzenoid chemicals and products, and a glossary of synonymous names of cyclic intermediates. (Author/BB)
