The following course outline has been prepared as a guide toward helping the student develop an understanding of operating principles and procedures necessary in processing data electronically. Students who have met the objectives of Designing the Computer Program should be admitted to this course. The class meets 2 hours per day for 90 clock hours. The course outline lists the information the student must learn. It is made up of 12 blocks of instruction (orientation, operating the central processor, peripheral units operation, file processing techniques, payroll application, validation of transactions, sort transactions, master file update run, payroll check print run, payroll reports run, employee responsibilities, and a Quinmester posttest) which are further broken down into several units each.
