The data in this volume were collected in accordance with the 1974 Maryland plan for the desegregation of public post secondary education institutions. Presented are employee related data for Maryland colleges, universities and state agencies, and data on members of boards associated with higher education. The statistics for institutions include the numbers of full and part time employees, numbers of employees experiencing a change in status, the numbers of faculty (by instructional programs), and average salaries of full time faculty, executives, administrators and managers. The racial composition of employees and board members is indicated within the following categories: American black, Indian, Asian, Hispanic, and American white; "foreign"; and "unknown". The data are also presented in relation to occupational categories, academic rank, and employee status. Tables are included for all state information, individual institutions, and for the categories "predominantly white" and "predominantly black" institutions. Brief summaries of the data are offered.
