Increasing Peer Praise of Socially Rejected Delinquent Youth: Effects on Cooperation and Acceptance.
Jones, Kevin M.; Young, Mary M.; Friman, Patrick C.
School Psychology Quarterly, v15 n1 p30-39 Spr 2000
Assesses the effects of positive peer reporting (PPR) on the cooperative behaviors and peer acceptance of three socially rejected, delinquent youth in residential care. Results indicate that PPR increased the use of cooperative statements made to peers and led to increased peer status. Findings support the use of peers as sources of reinforcement for a rejected youth's pro-social behavior. (Author/MKA)
