Critical Thinking and the Question of Critique: Some Lessons from Deconstruction.
Biesta, Gert J. J.; Stams, Geert Jan J. M.
Studies in Philosophy and Education, v20 n1 p57-74 Jan 2001
Provides some philosophical groundwork for contemporary debates about the idea of critical thinking. Discusses three styles of critique: critical dogmatism, transcendental critique (Karl-Otto Apel), and deconstruction (Jacques Derrida). Argues that while transcendental critique is able to solve some of the problems of the dogmatic approach to criticality, deconstruction provides the most coherent and self-reflexive conception of critique.
