The Neuropathology of Developmental Dysphasia: Behavioral, Morphological, and Physiological Evidence for a Pervasive Temporal Processing Disorder.
Tallal, Paula; And Others
Reading and Writing: An Interdisciplinary Journal, v3 n3-4 p363-77 Dec 1991
Reviews research toward defining the neuropathological mechanisms responsible for developmental dysphasia. Hypothesizes that higher level auditory processing dysfunction may result from more basic temporal processing deficits which interfere with resolution of brief duration stimuli. Suggests two alternative hypotheses regarding the neurophysiological basis of the multimodal temporal processing disorder. (RS)
