One hundred and forty-four strategies and techniques on motivation and discipline in the vocational classroom are listed in the document. The items were generated and subsequently ranked by 130 vocational educators from the 50 States using the Delphi Technique. The total ranking of all items is presented in table 1. The items, grouped into common areas by a Q-Sort, are then ranked in order of importance in the remaining 12 tables. For each item, the ordinal number of its rank is given along with its mean rating. The items are grouped in the tables according to the factors of: motivation, student control and discipline, teacher-student relationship, punishment, instructional tips, climate, planning, displays and fieldtrips, clubs, teacher traits, curriculum materials, and facility control.
