Bug City: Butterflies and Moths [Videotape].
"Bug City" is a video series created to help children learn about insects and other small critters. All aspects of bug life are touched upon including body structure, food, habitat, life cycle, mating habits, camouflage, mutualism (symbiosis), adaptations, social behavior, and more. Each program features dramatic microscopic photography, fun commentary, and bug facts. A teaching guide is also included. The topic of this lesson is butterflies and moths and contains interesting facts about both types of insects (including how to tell them apart) and explains their multi-stage life cycle. Instructions for creating a monarch caterpillar habitat to observe their metamorphosis are presented. (WRM)
