Environmental Microbiology Modules. Final Report.
Walke, Raymond H.; Walke, Jayne G.
This publication is the result of a project to develop microbiology instructional materials for vocational college students. These materials are a series of self-paced modules. Each module includes a pre-test, an introduction and historical packet, an organizational packet to set the framework for in-depth study, one or more in-depth packets, a challenge packet in which the student moves into the environment, and an end-of-module test. There are 10 theoretical modules which cover the basics needed in microbiological studies and 20 environmental modules which actually are the microbiological studies. These modules may be adapted, modified and applied in a variety of ways. The final report of the project is presented which includes a literature review, methodology description, summary, conclusions and recommendations, budget, and bibliography sections. The materials were used by a total of 60 students who were either natural resource management seniors or freshmen, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, or laboratory technicians in non-credit or night courses.
