Guidelines for the Estimation of Program Costs at Macomb County Community College. Project No. 78072.
Dulaney-Sorochak, Jeanne
The Education Amendments of 1976 require that any educational institution must be able to report the full cost of attending that institution to any student who requests the information. This report outlines guidelines for estimating the cost to the student attending Macomb County Community College. Tuition and living expenses, with required fees and the cost of books and equipment, constitute the bulk of the cost to the student. Two methods for estimating costs are given: (1) calculation of the minimum cost of a program as determined by the specific program chosen, student's residential status, number of courses taken per term, number of terms to complete the program, and cost of living; and (2) calculation of an individual program cost which further includes whether the student registers by mail, attends summer term, and takes any additional elective courses requiring fees. Data tables present the cost estimates for spring 1978 at the college for tuition, registration, books and equipment, cost of living, and for specific certificate and associate degree program costs and additional course fees.
