This directory lists 1650 individuals in New York state who are willing to participate in some aspect of public humanities programming including planning, proposal writing, research, presentation, or evaluation. The individuals listed are those who responded to a questionnaire that went to almost 8000 people from colleges and universities and from membership lists of humanities-related organizations. The listing is alphabetical by last name. Each entry lists the individual's address and telephone number and describes his or her specialization, preferred role, past experience with public humanities programs, and skills. No information is provided regarding fees or the ability of the person to travel. A specialization index and a language index are provided. The questionnaire used in the survey is also included.
