Launching New Educational Concepts: A Guide to Planning, Developing, and Marketing Educational Programs.
Mowen, Maryanne M.; And Others
This handbook presents a step-by-step outline of how to successfully launch and implement a new educational concept or program. A heavy emphasis is placed on the "program marketing" approach, which assumes that a new program must be "sold" to its "consumers" (i.e., teachers or students) if it is to be successfully implemented. Because the handbook is meant to be used as a ready reference, it is organized into chapters that correspond to the various stages of program development and implementation, including conceptualization, planning, development, piloting, implementing, and review and feedback. To further facilitate quick reference, the handbook's format is based on "information mapping." Key concepts are spotlighted in the left margin and major sections are divided into information blocks by heavy black lines. Primary concepts in each section are capitalized, while secondary concepts are printed in lower case. Illustrations of particular concepts are included in the appendix. (Author/JG)
