This publication consists of 22 papers prepared for presentation at a two-week Public Leadership Workshop conducted by the East-West Center's Technology and Development Institute in October 1973. The workshop focused mainly on the role of public leaders in regional and national development and on the ingredients for successful public leadership for regional development in the context of community action. Workshop participants included public officials and scholars from Fiji, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, the U.S. Trust Territory, and the states of Alabama and Hawaii.
