Digital Ink and Notetaking
Colwell, Kenneth E.
TechTrends: Linking Research & Practice to Improve Learning, v48 n3 p35-39 2004
Tablet PCs and graphics tablets employ digital ink technology. In this paper the author introduces the reader to digital ink technology with the aim of promoting its use in various instructional or training settings, with the goal of improving instructor-learner dialogue and student learning. The potential of digital ink for improved instructional presentations and student notetaking is explored. While the usefulness of digital ink technologies will go far beyond presentations and notetaking, these uses are an important starting point. (Contains 5 figures.)
