A General Systems Approach to Transnational Environmental Communication (TEC) Networks.
Horn, B. Ray
Human societies are beginning to direct many of their communication activities toward developing and maintaining a healthy global system. This paper focuses on two areas: (1) communication and eco-development problems, and (2) a worldwide assessment of environmental communication and education resource needs. Current research to develop and articulate an ideal Transnational Environmental Communication (TEC) system is identified. It is argued that the conceptualization of certain global problems and efforts to solve them can be significantly advanced by using General Systems concepts. An extensive listing of references is included. (Author/MA)
