Academic Success Through Quality-Managed Course Design.
Reese, Andy C.; Mobley, Mary F.
Innovative Higher Education, v20 n3 p171-82 Spr 1996
Principles of quality management, focusing on defect prevention rather than correction, were applied to the design of a graduate biomedicine course in immunology. The principles require clearly stated course mission and objectives, numerous intermediate steps to achieving objectives, immediate feedback on student performance, and immediate corrective action. The course led to improved student performance and long-term knowledge retention. (MSE)
