This article briefly reviews the development of alternative public schools and some of the efforts to change teacher education to meet this thrust toward multioption, learner-centered education. Specifically discussed are the Teacher Corps, Individually Guided Education (IGE), and Cincinnati's Mini Teacher Education Center. (SJL)
