A search for an environment-friendly ("green") canoe looked at the environmental impact of the production of different canoes. The production of aluminum, synthetic, and wood canvas canoes created negative environmental impacts, including exposure of people to toxic chemicals, emissions into the atmosphere, and imbalances in the ecosystem.
