This guide provides descriptions of 1,810 summer and short-term academic and language study-abroad programs that range from one-week language study courses to full-summer or semester-length university programs. An introductory section provides information on the Institute of International Education (IIE), IIE publications, the use of the guide, planning study abroad, and how to read study-abroad literature. The bulk of the guide consists of individual program descriptions, arranged geographically by region and country. Each listing provides information on program sponsor and name, academic focus, venue, dates, eligibility requirements, details, housing, schedule, costs, and contact point. Twenty-eight multi-country programs are also listed. Programs are indexed by sponsoring institution, consortia, field of study, special options, cost, and duration. (MDM)
