A psychopedagogical approach to teaching and learning can critically affect teachers' work. The paper discusses elements that influence realization of such potential, examining "Quality Teaching: A Sample of Cases" and noting concerns about its attempt to link psychopedagogy and quality. The need for a new metaphysics of quality is discussed. (SM)
