The Great Bug Hunt 2011
Dixon-Watmough, Rebecca
Primary Science, n119 p36-38 Sep 2011
The Association For Science Education's "schoolscience.co.uk Great Bug Hunt 2011," in association with Martin Rapley and Gatekeeper Educational, has been a resounding success--not only because it fits into the science curriculum so neatly, but also because of the passion it evoked in the children who took part. This year's entries were truly inspirational, with schools preparing weeks in advance for the hunt. School fields were cornered off to let the grass grow, bug hotels were designed and built, and a few even found the perfect reason to start a science club. In this article, the author reports on the winners and their prizes.
