A technique for using films for listening-comprehension is outlined by Richard D. Webber in "Steps in the Dark." Bill Robinson lists four patterns for stating dimensions and their possible order of frequency in "How Long is a Piece of String?" The results and implications for teaching of an in-house placement test are discussed by Steven D. Spurling in "Item Difficulty on the ELU Arts Placement Test of May and September 1978 and Its Relevance to Development of the ELU Arts Program." Patricia D. Hines offers "A Model for Student Evaluation of an ESP Program." Techniques for providing low-level oral practice are described by Maria Al-Salem in "Games Teachers Play."
