Developing an A+ Professional Portfolio
Gallo, Ann Marie
Strategies: A Journal for Physical and Sport Educators, v18 n5 p30-33 May-Jun 2005
Maintaining a high-quality professional portfolio is important for both preservice and inservice physical educators because a portfolio serves as a comprehensive representation of an individual and his or her accomplishments as a professional. For this reason, it is important that physical educators take an active role in updating and maintaining their portfolio. In this article, the author presents techniques for organizing a professional portfolio and discusses the types of documents to include in a portfolio. This article encourages one to assess his or her own portfolio through the use of a scoring chart. Among other things, the author discusses self-assessment which can be used to review the portfolio for quality and content. (Contains 1 figure.)
