Edible Geography: International Foods in the World Geography Classroom
Mowell, Barry Donald
Journal of Geography, v102 n4 p140-145 Jul 2003
One of the best vehicles for creating lifelong learners of geography involves not only making students see the relevance and the importance of the field, but to cultivate a sense of fun and enjoyment pertaining to geography as well. Incorporating international foods in the world geography classroom is not only an interesting alternative way to study another culture and gain insights into aspects of other people's daily lives, but it also creates a sense of fun and wonder which is conducive to sparking student interest in the world and its amazing variety.
