This article describes an activity for secondary mathematics students using digital imaging on The Geometer's Sketchpad to model polar functions of flowers. The activity presented in the appendix engages students in learning and exploring the polar coordinate system while helping them analyze a real-world situation. By completing this activity, students will have a better understanding of the polar coordinate system, will learn to appreciate its beauty and usefulness, and will gain a working knowledge of parameters. While not an in-depth study of polar coordinates, the activity does reinforce important function parameters and how each affects the shape of the graph. (Contains 4 figures.)
