Sources for Women's History in the Microtext Department of the Sterling C. Evans Library at Texas A&M University. Volume I and Volume II.
Knudson, Yvonne D., Comp.; And Others
This two-volume annotated bibliography is designed to provide access to materials in the microtext collection of Texas A&M University's Sterling C. Evans Library that relate to women's history. Volume I presents 96 citations to microform editions of works published by, for, and about women before 1900, and Volume II includes 444 citations to publications written from 1532 to 1984. Most of the works in Volume II date from after 1800, and a large percentage of them deal with women's roles in the political arena. Relevant works of fiction owned on microfilm are not included, but a number of plays are cited. Titles from the following major collections are included: (1) American Culture Series; (2) Confederate Imprints; (3) English and American Drama of the 19th Century; (4) a small sample of works included in the ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center) RIE (Resources in Education) collection; (5) Goldsmiths'-Kress Library of Economic Literature; (6) Major Studies and Issue Briefs of the Congressional Research Service; (7) Microform Publications in Health, Physical Education and Recreation; (8) Radical Pamphlet Literature; (9) Sabin; (10) Sahel; (11) Western Americana; and (12) Women's History: A Literature of Struggle. Bibliographic information, including the library call number, is provided for each entry as well as a brief description of the work. An index to both volumes is also provided. (KM)
