Exploring Relationships between School Counselors' Intrapersonal Characteristics and Program Implementation
Bazemore, Tracey W.
ProQuest LLC, Ph.D. Dissertation, Regent University
This study sought to determine if certain personality factors, time management characteristics, or demographics of school counselors were associated with comprehensive program implementation based on the ASCA National Model. Statistical analyses were conducted on the sample and subgroups based on whether ASCA Model use was required. While subgroup profiles varied, bivariate correlations for the sample indicated Conscientiousness, Extraversion, and Agreeableness were positively related with program implementation, and Neuroticism was negatively associated. All time management factors were associated with implementation in all correlations. Age was negatively associated with implementation for the non-mandated subgroup. Multiple regression analysis for the sample revealed Extraversion, Perceived Control over Time, years of experience, and age can be included in a regression equation to predict comprehensive implementation.
